Çukurova Development Agency was established with the Council of Ministers Decision numbered 2006/10550, published in the Official Gazette dated 06.07.2006 and numbered 26220, based on Law numbered 5449, with the aim of accelerating regional development, ensuring its sustainability, and reducing inter-regional and intra-regional development disparities in accordance with the principles and policies envisaged in the national development plan and programs by developing cooperation between the public sector, private sector and non-governmental organizations, ensuring the appropriate and effective use of resources and activating local potential.
Established as one of the first two pilot agencies in Turkey, Çukurova Development Agency carries out activities aimed at revealing the economic and social potential of the TR62 Level 2 (Çukurova) Region, which consists of Adana and Mersin provinces, and increasing production, employment and exports in the region. Aiming to activate local potential, Çukurova Development Agency prepares regional plans within the framework of national development priorities and provides financial and technical support to projects prepared by local stakeholders through support programs within the framework of result-oriented programs developed for strategic objectives determined in regional plans.
