Established in June 2006, Çukurova Development Agency is one of the first two regional development agencies in Turkey. The main purpose of the Agency is fostering regional development in Çukurova. The main methods to be employed to this end are the preparation of regional strategies and plans, implementation of project based grant schemes, supporting local investors and promoting the region for foreign investments. Such, the Agency acts as an investment promotion agency.
The Agency consists of the Board of Directors, the Development Council and the General Secretariat. The Board of Directors is the decision making body of the Agency determining the policies, strategies and administrative issues and has 8 members representing public institutions, local authorities, private sector and NGO’s. The Development Council has 100 members from various public institutions, private sector, NGOs, Universities and local authorities. The Council acts as an advisory body. The General Secretariat, composed of the Secretary- General, experts and support office employees, is the main technical and executive body of the Agency.
